Phoenix July 15, 2016   A “Sunday paper” joint promotion of QuikTrip stores and the Arizona Republic is bringing relief to the Valley’s homeless youth during the scorching summer months.  The Republic says 5,018 water bottles are being donated to Tumbleweed after just the first three Sundays of the campaign.

For every Sunday copy of the Arizona Republic sold at a QuickTrip store, a water bottle is being donated to Tumbleweed for distribution to youth through the Tumbleweed Resource Centers in Phoenix and Tempe, through the Street Outreach programs operating five nights a week in Phoenix, and through the Tumbleweed Mobile Youth Resource Centers, operating in six Valley cities.

“If you don’t have a dollar or two for a water bottle and don’t have access to a kitchen or bathroom tap, getting drinking water is a lot more difficult than you might think,” says Tumbleweed CEO Cynthia Schuler. “We never can have enough water bottles for our homeless yotuh, and it says so much about QuikTrip and the Republic that they are finding innovative ways to help our kids.”

“We are also grateful to everyone who is buying thier Sunday paper at QT.” Schuler adds. “Let’s kep the momentum going!”

The Republic says its goal is to contribute 14,000 bottles by August 7, when the promotion ends.
