Open Hands

“I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders…”

Open Hands is an emergency, 10-bed residential shelter in Phoenix for young people age 12-17.

Through a safe, home-like setting for youth who are experiencing homelessness,  family conflict or abuse, Open Hands offers individual and family counseling and the building of healthier family relationships. The primary goal is family reunification.

Youth who are not be able to return home may stay long-term and receive life skills and workforce training. 94% of youth who completed the Open Hands program went on to safe and permanent housing.

Open Hands serves approximately 200 youth annually who otherwise may have been in unsafe conditions, homeless and/or vulnerable to exploitation.
